Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about booking mobile laser tag for your event.

General

How does mobile laser tag work?

We bring professional-grade laser tag equipment directly to your location — your backyard, a park, an office parking lot, a gym, or anywhere with enough space. We handle all the setup, run the games, and clean up afterwards. It is like having a private laser tag arena wherever you want it.

Our taggers use safe infrared (IR) light beams — the same harmless technology found in your TV remote — to register hits on opposing players' taggers and headbands. There are no real lasers, no paint, no pellets, no mess, and no sting. The system tracks scores in real time and supports a wide range of game modes.

What is the minimum age for laser tag, and who is it suitable for?

Our mobile laser tag equipment is designed for ages 5 and up (though we've had kids as young as 2 play and have a blast!), with no upper age limit. We run events for kids' birthday parties, teen celebrations, family reunions, and corporate team-building — and we adjust game modes to keep play fair across mixed-age groups. The taggers are lightweight enough for small hands and ergonomic enough for adult players.

Is mobile laser tag safe for kids?

Yes — laser tag is one of the safest active group games available. The "lasers" are harmless infrared beams (the same kind in your TV remote), completely safe for eyes and skin. There are no projectiles, no chemicals, and no impact. We brief every player on safety before play begins and supervise the field throughout the event.

What areas do you serve?

We serve communities across four states — Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and New Jersey — from our home base in West Chester, PA. We typically travel within about 45 minutes in any direction at no extra charge, with a small travel fee for events a bit further out.

In Pennsylvania, we cover Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Bucks, Lancaster, and Berks counties — including West Chester, Chadds Ford, Kennett Square, Downingtown, Exton, Malvern, Phoenixville, Media, Springfield, Havertown, Swarthmore, King of Prussia, Conshohocken, Blue Bell, Doylestown, Newtown, Yardley, Lancaster, Lititz, and Reading. Chester County is our home turf, but Delco, Montco, and Bucks all see regular bookings.

In Delaware, we cover New Castle County — Wilmington, Newark, Hockessin, Bear, and Pike Creek are all in easy range.

In Maryland, we cover Cecil County, including Elkton, North East, and the upper Chesapeake communities.

In New Jersey, we cover Salem and Gloucester counties — including Woodbury, Glassboro, Washington Township, and Mullica Hill.

If you're near the edge of our map — or even beyond it — reach out anyway. We love a road trip, and we'll work with you to make it happen. For a full breakdown by county and town, see our service area page.

How many players can play laser tag at once?

Up to 24 players can be on the field at one time. For larger groups, players rotate in and out between rounds so everyone gets time in the arena. There is no hard cap on overall group size — we will design a rotation format that works for your headcount and keeps the energy high for everyone.

Where can you set up mobile laser tag — backyard, park, gym, or basement?

We bring mobile laser tag to almost any location: backyards, public parks, school gyms, basements, community centers, churches, and even cul-de-sacs across Chadds Ford, Chester County, Delaware County, and the greater Philadelphia area. The more interesting the terrain — trees, structures, fences, furniture — the better the games!

Do you do corporate laser tag events and team building?

Yes — corporate team-building, company picnics, school field days, scout troops, church youth groups, and community festivals are some of our most popular bookings. Reach out for a custom quote tailored to your group size, location, and goals.

Are the people running my event background checked?

Yes — your peace of mind matters to us. Dan holds current PA Criminal Record Checks, PA Child Abuse History Certification Clearances, and Abuse Prevention Systems Training Certificates through his volunteer work with children at Calvary Chapel of Delaware County (ccdelco), including the church nursery, children's ministry, and men's ministry, as well as coaching URA baseball. Kori is a PA-registered nurse with over seven years of ER experience and maintains her own set of clearances and background checks. The same standard of trust that organizations require of us is the same standard we bring to every Laser Tag Anywhere event.

Booking & Pricing

How do I book mobile laser tag for my event?

Booking mobile laser tag with Laser Tag Anywhere is easy. Visit our booking page or call/text us at 484-630-1033 with your event date, location, and rough headcount. We serve West Chester, PA and the surrounding Chester County, Delaware County, and greater NJ, MD, and DE areas. We'll confirm availability and send you a quote, and a deposit locks in your date.

Can I reschedule or cancel my laser tag party, and what's your refund policy?

We get it — life happens. While our official policy is that all deposits and payments are non-refundable, in practice we work with our customers whenever we reasonably can. If something unexpected comes up — illness, a family emergency, a scheduling conflict — reach out to us at [email protected] as early as you can and we'll do our best to find a path forward.

In most cases, that path looks like rescheduling rather than cancelling. If we approve a reschedule, you'll have up to 12 months from your original event date to rebook, subject to availability. The new event needs to be of equal or lesser value than the original — and if you want to upgrade to a bigger package, you can simply pay the difference at the time of rescheduling.

Weather is its own category, and we're flexible here too. If extreme weather (lightning, severe thunderstorms, tornado warnings, or other unsafe conditions) threatens your event, either you or we can cancel up to three (3) hours before the scheduled start time, and we'll set you up with a free reschedule within the 12-month window.

The non-refundable policy exists to protect us against last-minute cancellations that block other families and groups from booking that date — not to keep your money if you genuinely can't play. Just talk to us early and we'll figure it out together.

For the full policy, see our Terms of Service.

How long does a laser tag party or session last?

Our base package is 1.5 hours of play time, with additional time available in 30-minute increments. Most birthday parties run 1.5–2.5 hours; corporate and larger group events often run 2–2.5 hours. We will recommend a duration based on your group size and the format we design together.

Is Laser Tag Anywhere insured?

Yes — we carry full general liability insurance and can provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) upon request. A COI is often required by public parks, schools, HOAs, and corporate venues, and we issue them at no extra cost.

Do you offer all-day or overnight laser tag events?

Yes — we host extended-format events including school lock-ins, sleepovers, summer camps, and all-day festivals. Pricing is structured by hours or sessions, and we can scale staff and equipment for marathon play. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll build a custom package.

Event Day

How much space do I need for a laser tag event?

A space roughly the size of a tennis court (about 30' x 60') is ideal for most groups, but we adapt to whatever you have. Smaller backyards and larger fields both work — we bring inflatable bunkers, obstacles, and barriers to create cover and shape the play area.

Backyards, parks, parking lots, gyms, and fields all work perfectly. We will adapt the arena layout to fit your space.

What happens if it rains on the day of my laser tag event?

Light rain rarely cancels mobile laser tag — our equipment is weather-resistant and players have a blast either way. If conditions become unsafe (heavy rain, lightning, severe weather), we'll reschedule at no extra cost or move the event into a suitable indoor space at your location. We monitor the forecast closely in the days leading up to your event.

Do you include staff to run the laser tag event?

Yes — every package includes a trained game coach who handles setup, player briefings, running the game modes, safety supervision, scorekeeping, and breakdown. As the host, you get to enjoy your own event instead of running it.

Can you play laser tag indoors, outdoors, or both?

Both. Our mobile laser tag equipment works in any environment and any lighting condition — bright sunlight, overcast, indoor fluorescents, or after dark. Many events use indoor and outdoor space in the same session for variety.

Can you play laser tag during the day or at night?

Both. Our equipment performs well in bright daylight and after dark. Nighttime laser tag has a popular "glow" effect — the taggers, headbands, and bunkers all light up — making it a favorite for teen birthday parties, lock-ins, and summer events. Daytime games are equally fun and often groups love scheduling around sunset to take advantage of both!

Do I need a permit to play laser tag in a public park?

Check with your local township or parks department in advance — we're happy to advise, but securing the permit is the host's responsibility. We can provide a Certificate of Insurance to support your application.

What do I need to provide when the laser tag event is at my location?

Just the space and the players. We provide everything else and can even fully fun on portable batteries. Have drinking water on hand — mobile laser tag is more of a workout than guests expect.

What should players wear to laser tag?

We encourage party hosts to direct their guests to wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Loose-fitting clothing also makes running and moving around easier.

Equipment & Games

What kind of equipment do you use?

We use professional-grade infrared taggers with built-in sensors and headsets with multi-zone hit detection. The taggers have a range of about 300 feet and provide realistic sound effects and vibration feedback.

Do you provide all the laser tag equipment?

Yes. Every Laser Tag Anywhere booking includes taggers, headbands, inflatable bunkers and obstacles, a portable sound system, scoreboards, and a trained referee. You bring the players — we handle everything else.

What game modes do you offer?

We run six core laser tag game modes — Team Battle (classic squad vs. squad), Free-for-All (battle royale, every player for themselves), Capture the Flag, VIP (protect your player while trying to tag the other team's), Zombie Mode (tagged players become zombies — survive as long as you can), and Domination (control zones on the field to score points). Our Game Masters mix them up throughout your event to keep every round feeling fresh, and they'll pick the best lineup for your group size and age mix on the day.

That said, the menu is just a starting point — we're flexible and love building a custom flow around your group. Before your event, we'll talk through your guests (ages, personalities, the birthday kid's favorite movie, the corporate goal, the camp theme) and tailor the game flow to what your players will actually love. Want a Star Wars-themed mission? A zombie-heavy lineup for Halloween? A bracket-style tournament for a corporate offsite? Just ask — we've built custom formats for everything from superhero birthday parties to bachelor parties to church youth retreats, and we'll do the same for you.

Can you customize laser tag game modes for our group?

Absolutely. We rotate through team deathmatch, capture the flag, control points, free-for-all, infection/zombie, and more. If your event has a theme — birthday party, military-style, Halloween, corporate icebreaker — let us know in advance and we'll tailor game modes, team setups, and scoring to match.

Is the equipment military-style or violent?

Not at all. Our gear is designed specifically for kids and birthday parties. We don't use military-style equipment or aggressive language — our games use terms like taggers, health, power, and eliminated to keep everything age-appropriate, inclusive, and parent-approved. High-energy fun, zero uncomfortable vibes.
